ATLANTA (AP) — The National Weather Service has issued a freeze advisory covering a large part of north Georgia.

Forecasters say some snow is possible in the northeast Georgia mountains, though little or no accumulation is expected. They say parts of the Atlanta metro area could see some flurries.

Forecasters issued a freeze warning from late Friday night through Saturday morning in an area of north Georgia that includes Murray, Fannin, Gilmer, Union, Towns, Pickens, Dawson, Lumpkin and White counties. It includes the cities of Cleveland, Chatsworth, Dawsonville and Dahlonega.

Meteorologists are expecting freezing temperatures that are capable of killing or damaging sensitive plants and other vegetation.

Forecasters are also reminding area residents to account for outdoor pets during cold weather and to disconnect outdoor hoses.
