New application process for theme schools

The Newton County Theme School has modified its application process for the 2016 to 2017 school year.

Applications for students entering kindergarten will be available on March 14, but will only be accepted on March 22, 23 and 24 between 7:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. A lottery for open kindergarten seats will be held on Thursday, March 31 at 1 p.m. at the Newton County Board of Education office.

Parents may attend the drawing. Notification of a child’s acceptance to the kindergarten theme school will be mailed mid-April.

Applications for students entering 1st through 8th grades will be available May 16. Applications will be accepted May 31 through June 1 from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Only applications for grade levels with space available will be accepted.
Notification of a child’s acceptance in other grades will be mailed by mid-June.

Applications can be downloaded when available at www.newtoncountyschools.org/ncts or at the district web site www.newtoncountyschools.org; or may be picked up in person on March 14 for kindergarten, or May 16 for 1st through 8th grades at the Newton County Theme School, 2207 Williams Street.

All applications and required documentation must be hand delivered by the parent/legal guardian to Newton County Theme School office at 2207 Williams Street, Covington, GA 30014. Faxed, emailed or incomplete applications will not be accepted.
