Local Eagle Scout finishes project

Jimmy Greenich built a bridge for his Eagle Scout project.

The 40-foot-long beams and wood plank bridge is over the creek that feeds Hicks Lake on Georgia Highway 212 and is dedicated to Nita and Charlie Tarleton, members of Prospect United Methodist Church, the home for Jimmy's Troop 748.

Jimmy is a Life Scout with Troop 748. He's pictured here with members of his troop and of Pack 747 during the dedication of the bridge on March 27.

Jimmy, Charlie Tarleton and Gil Davis came up with the bridge idea almost a year ago. The project was started in October and finished on March 26.

The bridge will be used for "cross-overs" for Scout ceremonies.

Jimmy is a sophomore at Covington Academy. He is the son of Jeff and Debbie Greenich of Covington.
