Newton-Newton County Water Resources Director Jason Nord has resigned to pursue an opportunity in the private sector, according to a press release he sent Tuesday.

"I truly am honored and I have enjoyed serving the employees, citizens and customers of the Newton County Water System," he wrote. "I wish only the best for the future of Newton County's Water Resources."

Nord informed the Board of Commissioners of his decision several weeks ago. His last day will be Friday, June 12.
