MONTICELLO, Ga. - Piedmont Academy kicked off the 2017-2018 school year with 27 new students Aug. 10.

Piedmont draws from an eight-county area; the majority of the students coming from Jasper, Butts and Newton County.  Other counties include Henry, Jones, Morgan, Rockdale and Wilkinson.

Joining the Piedmont family in PK3 through fifth grade include:  James Brimberry, Drew Brooks, Averie Cook, Ellie Drew, Wyatt Fulcher, Colt Hawkins, Bentley Malcolm, Wyatt Nordstrom, Walker Peden and Stella Rose Wilkerson.

 New middle school students include:  Catie Brooks, Layne Cook, Logan Cowan, Brodie Hawkins, Mallory Kelly, Heydon McLendon, Nicolas Nyman and Cole Wade.

High school students new to Piedmont Academy include:  Will Andrews, Cody Brimberry, Noah Faubli, Bradley Greenwood, Brock Greenwood, Abby Griffin, Alex Kelly, India Lindsey and Taylor Smith.

Piedmont Academy was founded in 1970 and is entering its 47th year in education. More than 900 alumni belong to the school’s association.  The school is “accredited with quality” by the Georgia Accrediting Commission, accreditation from Southern Association of Independent Schools (SACS), and AdvancEd certified.  Piedmont is a member of the Georgia Independent School Association.
