Piedmont Academy High School FFA members recently traveled to Indianapolis, Ind. for the National FFA Convention. The members rode a charter bus with Colquitt County FFA and Cairo FFA. En route to the convention, the students toured the National Corvette Museum and Indianapolis Speedway. While at the convention, members attended workshops and sessions. Their favorite workshop was entitled "10 Things Every Teenager Needs to Know." Students learned tips on dressing, dating, and respecting parents.

During sessions, students listened to Olympian Scott Hamilton and NBA player Walter Bond. Mr. Bond told students to live life with confidence but never go as far as being arrogant. He also inspired students to go for their dreams instead of living life with regrets. In addition to the speakers, students also went to an Ag. and College Expo. Member James Marks was able to learn about many college options in the turf grass management field.

The National FFA Convention had more than 52,000 members from all around the country in attendance. Students made many new friends and learned about the various leadership opportunities FFA provides. Piedmont Academy FFA members that attended were Audrey Cleary, Dallas Fletcher, Logan Partenza, Malcom Tyler, James Marks, Cheyenne Galloway, Abigail Hyde, and Morgan Tillman. Chaperons for the trip were FFA Advisor, Beth Galloway, and Alumni member, Kelly Fletcher.
