The winners: The Newton County Public Library will once again celebrate National Library Week with their annual book mark contest. At a ceremony April 3, last year’s first place winner Gabrecia Turner, 13, was presented with a framed copy of her bookmark. Also at the ceremony, this year’s winners were announced. (From left) Palmer-Stone Elementary School fifth-grader Noah Mason, 11, won first place in the contest. Second place went to 12-year-old Alisa Duncan, a sixth-grader at Indian Creek Middle School and 13-year-old Alex Solomon, an eighth grade student at Indian Creek Middle School. The winners will have their bookmarks laminated and distributed at the library.
