Police are searching for bandits who robbed a Shell station on Brown Bridge Road on New Year’s Day. The station attendant told Newton County Sheriff’s Office investigators that she went out to lock the icebox between 8:50 and 9:30 p.m. when she felt something on her back and a man told her to "walk inside the store or he would shoot her," according to Public Information Officer Cortney Morrison. The man allegedly told the 51-year-old clerk not to move or turn around. The employee heard another man come into the store, and the duo fled with an undisclosed amount of cash and merchandise. The clerk was unable to give a description of the men or a gun. Anyone with information about the robbery is urged to call the sheriff’s office at (678) 625-5007 or visit online at www.newtonsheriffga.org. All tips can be given anonymously.
