Mr. James Trent Belcher died Nov. 24 at Newton Medical Center. The son of Mrs. Wylena Belcher and the late Mr. Willie James Belcher, he was born in 1964. He graduated from Newton County High School in 1983 and attended Alabama State College. Mr. Belcher joined Grace United Methodist Church at an early age. He was employed at Stone Containers in Lithonia and later at Mobil Chemical.
Surviving are mother Mrs. Wylena Belcher; devoted friend Ms. Carlene Cost; sisters Mrs. Vanessa Lett of Conyers, Ms. Crystal, Ms. Bianca, Ms. Diressa and Ms. Dionne Belcher, Covington; brothers Mr. Kenneth Tinsley of Covington, Mr. Clayton Manuel of Atlanta; uncles Mr. Leon Belcher, Mr. Aubrey Tinsley of Covington, Mr. Rufus Belcher of Cleveland, Ohio; aunts Mrs. Annie Ruth Bell of Atlanta, Mrs. Catherine White, Mrs. Annette Hardman, Ms. Freda Belcher of Covington; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins; special friend Mrs. Rena Brooks and other friends.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Nov. 29 at Grace United Methodist Church with the Rev. Matt Murphy officiating. Interment followed at Lawnwood Memorial Park.
