Hollie Christine Jackson, 78, of Covington, died Jan. 29 at Newton Medical Center. The daughter of the late William Shelby and Vera Mae Rodgers Welch, she was born in Barbour County, Ala. She had been a resident of Georgia for 49 years and a resident of Covington for 20 years. Mrs. Jackson was a member of Gaithers United Methodist Church for 20 years. She was a wonderful homemaker and loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Even though she was small and frail in body, she was very strong in spirit, which enabled her to persevere for the last three years. Mrs. Jackson is preceded in death by grandson Jason Betts.
Surviving are husband Robert (Bobby) Jackson of Covington; children Linda and Butch Betts of Covington, Larry Jackson of Louisiana, Charles and Debi Jackson of Covington, Kathryn and John Limuti of Villa Rica, Lisa Jackson of Monroe; grandchildren Shannon and Shelly Betts, Ryan and Amber Betts, Jonathan Jackson, Danny Jackson, Lamar Jackson, Sarah Jackson, Decha and Shane Millwood, Jeremy Jackson, Ashley Jackson; great-grandchildren Abbey Betts, Alyssa Betts, Jackson Betts, Jacob Betts, Logan Millwood, Jackson Millwood.
Funeral services were held Jan. 31 in the Access Road chapel of Caldwell & Cowan with the Rev. Herman Goddard and the Rev. Mickey Moss officiating. Interment will follow at Lawnwood Memorial Park.
