Mr. Charles H. "Chuck" Collins, 69, of Covington, died Aug. 6. The son of the late Alson Warren Collins and Elvira Duell Collins, he was born in Burlington, Vt., in 1938.

He served our country in the United States Air Force. Mr. Collins loved the Lions Club and was a past president. He delivered glasses to the Lions Lighthouse and helped start the Lions Club barbecue fundraiser.

In his spare time, he enjoyed playing golf, going to the Waffle House to drink coffee with his former employees from Hercules and gardening.

Surviving are wife Lois Collins of Covington; sisters Helen Jones of Tamaqua, Pa., Ruth Lepage of Punta Gorda, Fla.; brother Dick Collins of Las Vegas; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Mr. and Mrs. James Garrett, Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Arrowwood, Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Arrowwood, Mr. and Mrs. Everett Arrowwood, Mr. and Mrs. Dan Checka, Mr. and Mrs. David Ledford, Emitt Arrowwood, Elliott Arrowwood, Eldon Arrowwood, Linda Hammond; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

Funeral services will be today, Aug. 8, at 3 p.m. in the chapel of Wheeler Funeral Home with Royeese Stowe, Ann Wheeler and Jimmy Williams officiating. The family will hold a reception in honor of Mr. Collins at Shiloh United Methodist Church after the service where they will greet family and friends. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Covington Lions Club.
