The state's former No. 1 team, North Gwinnett, lost its first game of the season at home last week to Collins Hill, shaking up the Associated Press Class AAAAAA prep football poll this week.
The Bulldogs fell from the top position to No.7, while former poll member Peachtree Ridge fell out of the top 10.
The win vaulted Collins Hill up two spots into the top five, while Colquitt County took over the No. 1 position with the Bulldogs' loss.
Colquitt County rolled off its sixth consecutive victory of the season last Friday night at home, defeating Lowndes 17-10. The Packers now hold a 7-1 overall record, with a 4-0 mark in Region 1 play.
The Bulldogs' loss also allowed Region 2 member Lovejoy to move into the poll's second spot.
The Wildcats defeated Newton 56-23 on the road, setting up a date with Alcovy on Nov. 8 for the region championship.
Lovejoy has also rolled off seven consecutive wins, dropping its lone game of the season to Colquitt County 17-13 on Sept. 6.
Camden County earned the No. 3 spot in the poll, while Norcross moved up two positions to No. 4.
Norcross defeated No. 9 Peachtree Ridge 24-20 last week, giving the Lions their second loss of the season, dropping them out of the state poll. Peachtree Ridge is just 1-2 over its last three games, falling to the Blue Devils and No. 5 Collins Hill.
