Rockdale's Rising Scientists

Parent Sonya Travis steps back and admires her daughter Nundi Hall's science project display. Hall, a seventh grader at Memorial Middle School, and fellow MMS student Carlan Ivey did a project on muon particles and how they are affected by changes in atmosphere. "I'm muon-ed out!" said Travis, laughing. "Muons have been part of our home life for a while now," at least since October, she added. She described how her daughter and Ivey went on a field trip to Georgia State University to use equipment there to measure muons. "I'm so impressed by most of these. I didn't do stuff like this until senior year in high school." - photo by Michelle Kim
