Lady Bulldogs routed in tournament opener

The Rockdale County Lady Bulldogs will not continue their push for a state title, falling 104-46 to McEachern in the first round of the Class AAAAAA state playoffs.

The win gave McEachern its 22nd consecutive win, while the Lady Bulldogs finish the 2013-2014 season with a 13-10 overall record and an 8-4 mark in Region 2-AAAAAA.

McEachern led by 23 six minutes into the game before carrying a 56-24 deficit into halftime.

Sydney Fields and Brianna Patton scored 12 points each in the loss, while four different Lady Indians scored in double figures, lead by Te'a Cooper who finished with 19.

McEachern's 104 points marks the first time that a girls team has scored over 100 points in a state tournament game in Georgia history.

The Indians advance to face Brunswick on Monday in the second round of the state playoffs.
