A man identified as a suspect in Thursday's murder of a Newton County man was arrested in Orlando Thursday.
Abdul Davon Williams was identified by the Newton County Sheriff's Office earlier in the day as one of the three suspects belived to be responsible for the murder of Adrian Ricardo Brooks.
The U.S. Marshalls took Williams, 23, also known as "Lil Dreads," into custody in Florida without incident and transported him to the Orange County Detention Center, according to the NCSO.
Brooks, 35 of Newton County, was fatally wounded from a shot in the abdomen around 8 p.m., according to NCSO deputy Cortney Morrison. Brooks was shot in the Gum Tree neighborhood off Kirkland Road.
Brooks was taken to an area hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
Deputies arrived on the scene after the men were reportedly seen fleeing in a vehicle similar to a white Toyota Camry. A be on the lookout was issued for all vehicles matching the vague description in both Newton and Rockdale counties, as the shooting occurred in an area near Salem Road.
The Criminal Investigation Division is currently seeking any information on the other two suspects, one described, by NCSO, as an unknown black male with long dreads, approximately 35-40 years old and 160-180 pounds, and the other a Hispanic male, with long, dark, straight hair, approximately 30-35 years old and 155-165 pounds.
