Dear editor:

This letter is being submitted in response to the "Save Your Tears" editorial in the Friday edition of the Covington News.

I was dismayed that The Covington News was so quick to mock federal employees, especially when these employees are caught in the middle of a political struggle and are dealing with the uncertainty of when they will next see a full paycheck.

Federal employees work and live in your community. They vote here, pay their taxes here, spend their income here, volunteer here, and support churches and non-profit organizations.

And yes, they even subscribe to The Covington News.
