Internationally-acclaimed author Sir Salman Rushdie will appear on the campus of Oxford College at 7 p.m. in the Oxford chapel. He will participate in a literary conversation on literature and the arts with Lucas Carpenter, PhD, Charles Howard Candler Professor of English at Oxford College and Christine Loflin, PhD, Oxford associate professor of English. A reception will follow immediately after in the Oxford College Library, where Rushdie will sign copies of his books, which will be on sale by the Oxford College Bookstore.

Rushdie is the winner of Britain's Booker Prize, the James Joyce Award and the English-Speaking Union Award, among many other honors. He is a University Distinguished Professor at Emory University, where he teaches, presents public lectures and engages with the academic community.

The event is free and open to the public, though those wishing to attend are asked to call for tickets at (770) 784-8389. Parking is also free and available near the chapel.
