The Newton County Sheriff’s Office recently promoted Deputy Steven Ledford to the rank of Corporal in the Uniform Patrol Division. He has been with the agency since 1998 where he began his career in the detention center. The first eight years of his career was in the Detention Center and in 2006 he transferred to the Uniform Patrol Division as a Patrol Deputy. While in the Uniform Patrol Division, he has been successful and assigned to all shifts, acted as a Field Training Officer which requires him to train new deputies and been a proven leader to his co-workers. His assignment will be one of the evening shifts on patrol.
