Missing person: Ralph Michael Garland

Be on the lookout for Ralph Michael Garland, last seen Friday Feb. 27 at approximately 9:04 p.m. Garland has a medical condition that could cause him to have a staggered walk, and he has a hump in his back and is missing his left index finger.

The Newton County Sheriff’s Office is requesting any information regarding the whereabouts of Ralph Michael Garland.

Garland was reported missing by family members on March 3, 2015.

According to a release from the Newton County Sheriff's Office, the last date of contact was on Friday, Feb. 27, 2015 at approximately 2100 hrs. Mr. Garland was last seen in the area of the Stewart Community off of Hwy 36 in Covington. Mr. Garland is a 56 year old white male, 5 feet, 8 inches tall, weighs about 166 pounds, has brown hair, brown eyes, and tribal tattoos on both arms. He does have a medical condition that may cause him to have a staggered walk and a hump in his back. Due to Mr. Garland’s health issues he does take medication although it is not life sustaining. There is an unknown clothing description at this time. There is no vehicle information as Mr. Garland is known to catch rides from others.

There are no circumstances which lead to believe there is foul play involved.

The Newton County Sheriff’s Office is asking for any family, friends, acquaintances or anyone that may have seen or had contact with Mr. Garland after Friday, February 27, 2015 at approximately 2100 hrs, please contact Sgt. Brent Langley at 678-625-1453.
