COVINGTON, Ga. – Investigators with the Newton County Sheriff’s Office are looking into a report that a man tried to coax a child into his car Monday morning.

According to a NCSO incident report, a deputy was dispatched to an address on Jill Lane at 10:30 a.m. Feb. 5 on the report.

When he arrived at the scene, the deputy met with the child’s grandmother who said she thought she subject was trying to get her grandson to get into his silver car.

According to a NCSO spokesperson, the male was saying something but the complainant did not hear what he was saying. The vehicle is described as a silver Nissan 350Z.
