NEWTON COUNTY — Harold Cooper is no longer the county manager of Newton County. The Newton County Board of Commissioners (BOC) voted to “disengage” from Cooper following an hour-long executive session during Tuesday’s meeting. With the move, the county will pay out the remainder of Cooper’s contracted salary.
