FERGUSON, Mo. (AP) — Ferguson's mayor is criticizing what he says was delayed National Guard deployment as violent protests broke out following the grand jury's decision not to indict Officer Darren Wilson.

Ferguson Mayor James Knowles on Tuesday called the decision to delay the deployment "deeply disturbing."

Missouri Gov. Jay Nixon earlier in the day ordered additional National Guard members to the St. Louis suburb.
