The annual Ty Reed Golf Classic is approaching.

The sixth annual tournament will be held May 5 at the Bear Creek Golf Club in Monroe.

All proceeds from the tournament benefit the Ty Reed Memorial Scholarship, awarded each year since 1993 to graduating high school seniors.

Golfer registration is $80 for the hole-in-one contest, two mulligans, two longest drive holes, three closest to the pin holes (including the Ty Reed Memorial Hole), a closest to the line hole, putting contest, lunch, door prizes, and a day of golf.

The tournament is a four-player scramble with an 8:45 a.m. shotgun start. Teams will be put into two flights according to their scores that day. Each flight will receive prizes for first through sixth places. There is also a hole-in-one giveaway of a Ford F-150 pickup (free two-year lease, 15,000 miles per year).

Sponsorships are also available at five levels. The diamond level is $2,000, including entry fee for 12 players, a sign on a selected tee box, recognition on local radio and in newspapers, a plaque recognizing you and/or your company as a diamond sponsor, and an invitation for 12 guests to the Ty Reed Memorial Scholarship dinner later in the year.

The platinum level is $1,000, including entry fee for eight players, a sign on a selected tee box, recognition on local radio and in newspapers, a plaque, and an invitation for eight guests to the scholarship dinner.

The gold level, $500, includes entry fee for four players, a sign on a selected tee box, recognition on local radio and in newspapers, a recognition plaque, and invitations for four guests to the scholarship dinner.

The silver level is $250, including entry fee for two players, a sign with your name on a selected tee box, recognition on local radio and in newspapers, a plaque recognizing you as a sponsor, and invitations for two guests to the scholarship dinner.

The bronze level is $125 and includes a sign with your name on a selected tee box, recognition on local radio and in newspapers, and invitations for two guests to the scholarship dinner.
