Quick guide to the Fabulous 4th Festival

The City of Conyers will be hosting "The Fabulous Fourth Festival" this year at the Georgia International Horse Park on Saturday, July 4. This is the sixth consecutive year that Conyers has offered this event. Admission and parking are all free. Fireworks start at dark. Blankets and lawn chairs are allowed but coolers and pets are prohibited

• Gates open at 5 p.m.

• Patriotic program at 7 p.m., "Salute to America's Women Veterans" with speaker Brig. Gen. Maria Britt, city proclamation and the Georgia State Defense Force Band. Stop by the Veterans Memorial Park booth and sign the "Thank You" banner that will be sent to the 48th Brigade of the Georgia National Guard serving in Afghanistan

• Ultimate Air Dog Show with a 5 p.m. competition, 7 p.m. competition and 8:30 p.m. finals.

• Live performances from local bands Jessie Bock & Livin' Easy and The Mike Rogers Band on the Honda of Conyers Stage

Children can make their own patriotic artwork at the Kids Arts and Crafts Tent sponsored by Stone Mountain Ministries

• Find the car of your dreams at the 2 Unique Corvettes of Atlanta Car Show or the Nostalgic Japanese Street Fighters Car Show

• Meet Gomer Pyle or Barney Fife with Memories of Mayberry

• Children of all ages can ride the miniature outdoor railroad provided by the North Georgia Live Steamers and play on one of the many activities like the moonwalk, pony rides and more.
