H1N1 vaccine clinic to be held Saturday in Rockdale

The East Metro Health District will hold a special H1N1 vaccination clinic Rockdale County Health Center on Saturday, Dec. 5, for those deemed priority groups.

The clinic, which will provide vaccines at no charge to the client, will be from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. and is located next to the J.P. Carr center on Taylor Street.

The vaccine will be available to persons who fall into the priority groups recommended by the CDC:
•       Pregnant women
•       Healthcare and emergency medical personnel
•       People who live with or care for infants younger than 6 months
•       Anyone from 6 months to 24 years
•       Anyone from 25 years to 64 years who have medical conditions that put them at higher risk for influenza related complications

Persons are encouraged to bring their Medicaid, Medicare, or private insurance cards with them, for proper billing.   

The other H1N1 vaccination clinic on Saturday will be at the Lawrenceville clinic.

Health Department clinics in Lawrenceville, Norcross, Buford, Conyers, and Covington will continue providing the H1N1 vaccine during weekday clinic hours.  Clients are encouraged to call the health department clinics to confirm availability.  Contact information for all health clinics can be found at www.EastMetroHealth.com.
