Members of several Covington churches came together during the annual Holy Week services and donated to the Rainbow Covenant Ministries Homeless Shelter.

These churches were organized many years ago and worship together during various times of the year, including Holy Week. The churches include St. Paul A.M.E., First United Methodist, First Presbyterian, First Baptist and Grace United Methodist

This year, Grace United Methodist and St. Paul A.M.E. were the hosts during Holy Week. A luncheon was prepared each day. The food was enjoyable and the fellowship always a humbling experience. All proceeds for the service were given to the Rainbow Covenant Ministries Homeless Shelter, under the direction of the Rev. Clara Lett.

Members of Grace UMC, along with pastor the Rev. Matt Murphy, presented a check to Lett for the donations made during Holy Week at Grace UMC. Other members present were Geraldine Camp, Hawnethia Williams, Walter Camp and Janet A. Goodman. They thanked Lett for her unwavering dedication to the Covington community and wished her well when she relocates to the new facility. They also commended her for her tireless efforts and for doing a wonderful job of being her brother and sister’s keeper for many years n Newton County.
