Sigman drops out

Bobby Sigman dropped out of the Covington mayoral race Tuesday morning.

Sigman was arrested last week after he was charged with stealing his competitor's campaign signs. You can read the coverage of the event on our website. The police released the footage from the arrest on Tuesday morning. You can also see that at covnews.com. Sigman resigned shortly after that.

After the damaging evidence was shown by police Tuesday, Sigman did the proper thing and resigned from the race.

For all practical purposes, this means that Ronnie Johnston will be the next mayor of Covington..

We wish Johnston the best. We hope and pray that he performs his soon-to-be responsibilities with fairness and determination and avoids the pitfalls and drama that some members of the current council have created for current Mayor Kim Carter.
