Mr. Warren “Kirk” Kirkland, 83 of Covington, passed away Feb. 4. He was preceded in death by his wife Doris Pratt Kirkalnd. Mr. Kirkland, a former Marine, was a longtime local business owner, Jaycee, Kawanian and Elk. Golf, fishing, gardening and travel were his life’s pleasures. He will be sorely missed by his friends and family alike. He is survived by his daughters June (Tony) Cordell, Becky (Andy) Christo, Patti (the late David) Roberts-Jones, Joy (Herb) McCaull, Emmalie Kirkland, Julie (Roy) Griffin; brothers James, Sam and Tommy Kirkland of Homassassa, Fla. Mr. Kirkland was “Pop” to nine grandchildren and one great grandchild.
Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 7, in the chapel of Harwell-Wheeler Funeral Home with Mr. Roy Griffin officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, Feb. 6, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Those desiring may make donations to the Charlie Elliott Wildlife Center, 543 Elliott Trail, Mansfield, Ga. 30055.
