Mrs. Virginia "Ginger" Pogue, 67, of Covington, passed away Nov. 10. She obtained a master's degree in counseling from Liberty University and was the co-founder of Georgia Association of Play Therapy. She was a 40 year plus member of Covington Christian Church and enjoyed playing the violin, sewing and quilting. Mrs. Pogue was preceded in death by her parents Byron Russell and Dorothy Anne (Barnd) Lee and brothers Gordon R. Lee and Richard R. Lee.
Survivors include her loving husband of 50 years Theodore N. Pogue of Covington; daughter and son-in-law Carolyn M. and Michael Hubbard of Rutledge; sons and daughter-in-law Donald E. Pogue of Christiansted, Virgin Islands, and D. Alan and Kimberlee Pogue of Senoia; sisters and brothers-in-law Marion and Gaylord Hardesty of Poway, Calif., Patricia and David Frost of El Cajon, Calif., and Susan and Charles Murray of Alpine, Calif.; brothers and sisters-in-law George R. and Sherry Lee of Lakeside, Calif., James R. and Pamela Lee of Lemon Grove, Calif., and David R. Lee also of Lakeside, Calif.; grandchildren Christopher and Sean Pogue, Lydia and Levi Hubbard, and Emily and Elijah Pogue; great-grandson Aiden Pogue; mother-in-law Pauline Pogue; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Mrs. Pogue will be held at 2 p.m. tomorrow, Nov. 15, at the chapel of Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 1215 Access Road, with Pastor Tim Bolen and Richard Kaiser officiating. In accordance with her wishes, her remains will be cremated following the service, and a private family interment will take place at a later date.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5 to 8 p.m. today, Nov. 14. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Newton County Food Pantry, 7125 Turner Lake Circle, SW, Covington, GA 30014.
