Richard J. Katenkamp, 81, of Covington, passed away Sept. 22. Mr. Katenkamp was a commercial draftsman for 50 years. He faithfully served his country in the United States Air Force during the Korean War and also served in the Naval Reserve.

He loved his family dearly and enjoyed the holidays and spending time with his neighbors. Mr. Katenkamp was preceded in death by his wife, Melanie Katenkamp, granddaughter, Heather Anne Mieras, and parents, Earl Louis and Anne Louise Katenkamp.

Survivors include his son, Joseph Katenkamp, of Pinellas Park, Fla.; daughter and son-in-law, Kathy and John Curry, of Columbia, S.C.; grandchildren, Sarah Todd, of Chapin, S.C., and Kimberly Curry, of Columbia; great-grandchildren Anthony Mieras, Kaden Todd, and Noah Todd; sister, Sally Moulse, of Roanoke, Va.; brother, David Katenkamp, of Virginia; and loving friend and mother of Kathy and Joseph, Peggy Mathis.
