Mr. Thomas H. "Tom" Hunt, age 61, of Covington passed away February 27, 2012. He was born April 3, 1950 in San Mateo, California to the late Harmon King and Dorothy Mildred Heuton Hunt. Tom was raised in California and graduated from Peninsula High School in San Bruno and attended San Mateo College. While growing up in California Tom was a member of San Carlos Community Church, he went to work for Western Airlines in San Francisco, who merged with Delta Air Lines and he moved to Atlanta and was with the airlines for over 34 years. He enjoyed playing golf, fishing, traveling and coaching and playing softball and spending time with his grandchildren. Mr. Hunt attended First Baptist Church of Covington and was a Mason and member of Senoia Masonic Lodge #82.
Mr. Hunt is survived by his wife, Chante Tucker Hunt, of Covington, daughter and son-in-law Denise and Reb Melton of Cumberland Furnace, Tennessee, sisters and brothers-in-law Diana and Bill Mann of San Carlos, California, Marsha and Brent Martin of Sonora, California and his grandchildren Juliana, Rebeca and Landon
Melton. He is also survived by his In-laws David and Melba O'Kelley of Covington, Bruce Sr. and Shelia Tucker of Pavo, Georgia and his brother-in-law Mannin Tucker of Covington and his niece Ava Carole Tucker, along with numerous other family and close friends.
Funeral services for Mr. Hunt will be held at 11:00am Wednesday, February 29, 2012 at the Chapel of J.C. Harwell & Son Funeral Home with Reverend Luke Durden. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6pm until 8pm on Tuesday, February 28, 2012. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to the Masonic Children's Home at 1417 Nottingham Drive, Macon, GA 31211 in honor of Tom. J.C. Harwell & Son Funeral Home and Cremation Chapel, 2157 East Street SE, Covington, GA 30014 is in charge of arrangements. Friends may sign the on-line register book at www.harwellfuneralhome.com
