Mrs. Marie Brown Silin, age 87, of Lawrenceville formerly of Covington passed away Thursday, Nov. 11, 2021.  She was born Nov. 10, 1934 in Tallapoosa, Georgia.  Mrs. Silin grew up in Tallapoosa and Atlanta and graduated from Bass High School.  She resided in Covington for a number of years and was a resident of Harristown Park.  She worked for Georgia Adjustment Company for over 30 years and was very involved in the Women’s Insurance Association. Mrs. Silin loved to dance, and enjoyed planning events, playing the organ, and weekend trips to the mountains and the beach. She was preceded in death by her father Wallace Brown; her mother Ruth Fielder Brown Keany; and her husband Matt Silin.

Mrs. Silin is survived by her children Perri Futo (Grant Posey) of Covington, Brent Futo of Clermont, Georgia, Greg Futo of Statham, Georgia, and Tina Hughes of Lawrenceville, Georgia; her grandchildren Kelby Hughes (Brianna Hinton), Claire Futo, Brent Futo, Jr., Blake Futo, Peyton Futo, and Mary Beth Carr (Josh); her great grandchildren Emmett, Xander, and Jasper Carr; her brother Howard Brown, Jr. (Jacque) of Loganville; her niece Wendy Wellborn (Glen) and her great niece Grace Wellborn; her step father Frank Keany; her loving pet “Snuggles”; her best friend Gaynell Avery; along with a host of other family and close friends.  

Funeral services for Mrs. Silin will be held at 11 o’clock Tuesday, Nov. 16, 2021 at the Chapel of J.C. Harwell and Son Funeral Home with Reverend Doctor L. Winston Freckleton officiating.  Interment will follow at Fairview Memorial Gardens, 164 Fairview Road, Stockbridge, GA 30281.  The family will receive friends at J.C. Harwell and Son Funeral Home from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Monday, Nov. 15, 2021 and also from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM prior to the service on Tuesday, Nov. 16, 2021.  J.C.
