Ms. Linda D. Saxton Smith died July 26. The daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Clary (Ruby Stanley) Saxton, she was born in Bamberg, S.C., in 1952. The family moved to Georgia in 1956, and at an early age Ms. Smith joined Bethlehem Baptist Church in Covington. She was a dedicated employee of ISS (International Storage Systems) for many years until her health declined. Ms. Smith was a thoughtful, caring and loving person. She was there for everyone in his or her time of need. She loved entertaining, planning family gatherings, fishing, dancing and singing.

Surviving are sisters Mr. and Mrs. Victor (Minnie) Riddle, Ms. Essie Saxton and Ms. Mary Ann Saxton; brothers Mr. and Mrs. James (Julia) Felder, Mr. and Mrs. Perlie (Mary) Felder, Mr. and Mrs. William Henry (Betty) Fost, Mr. Larry Saxton, Mr. Jerimiah Saxton and Mr. Ray Saxton; god-daughters Keita Walker and Michelle Wade; uncle Mr. and Mrs. Willie James (Dot) Stanley; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by sister-in-law Mrs. Caroline Saxton and special friend Mr. Joe Crosby.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, July 30, at Bethlehem Baptist Church with the Rev. H. K. Benton Jr. and the Rev. James Russell officiating. Interment will be at Early Hope Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home today, July 29, from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.; family hours are from 6 to 8 p.m.
