Elsie Eidson Crawford, 90, of Covington, passed away on January 14, 2014, at Abbey Hospice in Social Circle. A native of Carrollton, she had called Covington home since 1950. Mrs. Crawford was a longtime member of First Baptist Church, Covington. She retired from Grand Union (Colonial Stores) with 37 years of service. Mrs. Crawford was preceded in death by her parents, Landis Aquillian and Rebecca McCollum Eidson; her beloved husband, Newell Crawford; and her sister, Ruth Eidson Williams.

Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Carole and Steve Denman of Watkinsville; and her two adored granddaughters, Katie Denman of Athens and Laura Denman of Augusta. She is also survived by dear family friend, Dot Norton of Tucker, and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Mrs. Crawford will be at 11 a.m. Jan.16 at First Baptist Church, Covington, with the Rev. Charles Reynolds and Steve Aldridge officiating. The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Jan. 15 at Caldwell and Cowan Funeral Home, 3134 Floyd St., Covington.
