SMITH

Mr. Carson Smith, Jr. age 73 of Covington Georgia died on Wednesday, June 10, 2009. He was born October 22, 1935 in Scotland County North Carolina to the late Carson O. and Dotty (Goss) Smith Sr. Mr. Smith moved here from Decatur Georgia over 30 years ago. He proudly served our country as a Captain in the United States Air Force Reserve. Mr. Smith was a member of Bethany Presbyterian Church and was retired from Sears where he worked as a merchandise manager for 25 years.

Mr. Smith is survived by his wife: Frances W. Smith of Covington; children: Cynthia Elizabeth and Larry Knight of McDonough, James Bradley and Sue Ann Kuhn-Smith of Covington, Leslie and Doug Lovelady of Oneonta, AL, Carson Kelly and Tarah Smith of Simpsonville, SC; grandchildren: April Marie Knight, Curren Elizabeth Smith, Carson Alexander Smith, Avery Marie Lovelady, sisters: Eunice Tucker, Geneva Smith, Joan Cave, Diane Ferguson; and numerous close friends.

The family will receive friends at Wheeler Funeral Home on Friday, June 12, 2009 from 6-8PM. Service for Mr. Smith will be held graveside at 11:00AM at Bethany Presbyterian Church Cemetery on Saturday, June 13, 2009 with Rev. Russell McKee officiating.
