Mr. Anderson “Buck” Knight, Jr., of Covington died on March 24, 2011 at Abbey Hospice at the age of 77. Born in Madison, GA to the late Anderson, Sr. and Annie Harper Knight, he was a U.S. Navy Veteran. Buck worked for General Motors Corporation at the Lakewood plant for 24 years. A talented wood worker, he enjoyed making wood crafts and could draw a piece of furniture and then build it. He also enjoyed vegetable gardening and fresh water fishing. He leaves behind many good friends and will be remembered for being a good and loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He is preceded in death by his brothers, Robert Knight, Jack Knight; mother-in-law & father-in-law, Howell and Mary Lou Ellis.
Buck is survived by his loving wife, Jackie Knight of Covington; daughters and son-in-law, Debra and Denzil Terrell of Oxford, Kathy Hudgins DeLancey of Conyers; son, Greg Knight of Covington; sisters and brothers-in-law, Kathryn Pickett, Eleanor and Don Henderson, Ann and Aaron Varner, Sue and Luther Baker all of Covington, Elizabeth and Irby Edwards of Oxford; brother and sister-in-law, Bobby and Connie Knight of Covington; 5 grandchildren, Dean Terrell, Stephanie Loew, Andrew Terrell, Holly Bryan, Scott Knight; 5 great-grandchildren, Tyler Loew, Brayden Loew, Mason Terrell, Cheyenne Terrell, Hunter Bryan; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services for Buck will be held Sunday, March 27, 2011, 4:00 P. M. at the Chapel of Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 1215 Access Road, Covington with Rev. James T. Walden, Mr. Aaron Varner and Mr. Denzil Terrell officiating and interment will follow in Lawnwood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday, March 26, 2011 from 2:00 – 4:00 P.M. and 6:00 – 9:00 P.M.
