Abe Hopkins, age 6, of Covington passed away Monday, July 28, 2014.  He was born February 14, 2008 in Covington to Mike and Kelli Kirkley Hopkins.  Abe was a remarkable young man whose smile and laughter were contagious.  Born on Valentine’s Day he was full of love, affectionately described as a “mommie’s boy” he loved watching Hallmark movies and being with his loving mother, father, sisters, grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins.   Abe shined for Jesus every day and touched more people than could ever be known.  He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents J.T. and Mary Jo Kirkley and his uncle Tommy Kirkley.

Abe is survived by his parents Mike and Kelli Hopkins of Covington, his sister’s Mary Elizabeth, Michala and Marlee Anne, his paternal grandparents Bobby and JoAnn Hopkins of Covington his aunts and uncles Debbie Kirkley Curtis of Social Circle, Bryant Kirkley of Oxford and Paige and Bill Vandergriff of Covington along with numerous cousins, other family and a host of caring loving friends.

A Celebration of Life Service for Abe will be held at 11 o’clock Thursday, July 31, 2014 at Eastridge Community Church with Pastor Rob Raynor, Pastor Scott Moore and Reverend Susan Taylor officiating.  The family will receive friends at the church following the service.  In lieu of flowers, those desiring, may make donations to Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta,Children's Foundation, Park North 1577 Northeast Expressway Suite A, Atlanta, GA 30329, choagiving@choa.org  The Children’s Miracle Network at donations.childrensmiraclenetworkhospitals.org or Lifelink of Georgia Legacy Fund, 2875 Northwoods Parkway, Norcross, GA 30071.  J.C.
