WOODSTOCK - Police are investigating how a man died in a plastic kiddie pool outside a Woodstock home.

The Cherokee County Sheriff's Office says 54-year-old Dominac Saverina Pedante was found dead Sunday in less than a foot of water in the pool.

Authorities say Pedante had parked his car next to the swimming pool and may have tripped as he got out of the vehicle. The door to his car was still open. Investigators say it's possible the victim suffered a medical emergency that caused him to fall.

An autopsy was planned to determine the cause of death.
