Under the wire: A little after 3 p.m., a dump truck caught and tore down several spans of an AT&T telephone cable on Washington St. In addition to causing traffic jams while the damaged lines were repaired, it also caused lights to flicker throughout town as the wires collided and touched in the air. Businesses and homes along Washington Street and in downtown Covington experienced brief power loss.
