Shipmate scouts

In the Navy: Cub Scout Pack 2291 recently relived a part of history when they participated in the camping program aboard the World War II Aircraft Carrier USS Yorktown at Patriots Point Naval and Maritime Museum in Charleston Harbor.  The scouts became “shipmates” with other youth as they toured the USS Yorktown, the submarine USS Clamagore, the Medal of Honor Museum, and the Vietnam Era Naval Support Base.  Morning and evening meals were prepared and served in the “Chief’s Mess” aboard the Yorktown to give the scouts the full effect of naval life.  Pack 2291 also took a boat ride to Fort Sumter and toured this famous Civil War Monument. Pack 2291 meets Thursdays at 7pm at East Newton Baptist Church.
