NCSO Toy Ride approaching

The 17th Annual Newton County Toy Ride benefiting local children for Christmas and presented by the Newton County Sheriff’s Office is approaching.

The ride is Dec. 12 with registration starting at 9 a.m. and the ride leaving at 10:30 a.m. from the Kmart shopping center on the corner of Hwy. 278 and Turner Lake Road.

Registration fee is a cash donation of $20 or one unwrapped toy per bike. There is no charge for passengers and one free T-shirt will be given per entry. Additional T-shirts will be for sale, and there will be door prizes and a 50/50 drawing.

The ride will be escorted by the Newton County Sheriff’s Office throughout the county and will end at The Church of Covington on Hwy. 142 for lunch.
