Covington police said a man found early today bleeding and naked at a fast food restaurant on U.S. Highway 278 told them that he had been beaten and robbed.

The victim was found about 12:43 a.m. at the Krystal's at 3230 U.S. Highway 278. He told police that he had just been beaten and robbed by five men in bandandas. He was treated and released from Newton Medical Center.

According to police, the man said he had been assaulted at his residence nearby then ran from his assailants to the restaurant. Officers began searching the area where the assault reportedly occurred and two more victims emerged from a nearby wooded area, seeking help.
