As a way to promote downtown businesses and eateries, Main Street Covington is working with area shops and restaurants on “Love for Mom,” Day, Saturday, 10 a.m.-2 p.m.
“We’re inviting people to come downtown and do their Mother’s Day shopping, here,” said Velinda Wheeles, Director of Main Street Covington. “It’s a way to promote family time and coming downtown to shop.”
As part of the promotion, punch cards will be given out at WildArt. Shop at three of the 22 participating retailers, get the card punched and take it back to WildArt to have a photographer from Wright’s Expression Photography take a picture. Children can then make cards to give to their mothers.
Participating business are Wild Art, Scoops, Spires Interiors and Gifts, Fletcher’s Jewelry, Shelvie Jean, Brendale’s, Bread and Butter Bakery, Bradley’s BBQ, Physique Hair, Merle Norman, Charmed Salon Spa Boutique, Square Perk, Mystic Grill, The Alley, Amici’s, Your Sister’s Closet, Southern Heartland, Tropical Nails, Ramsey’s Furniture, New Shoez, The Cork Boutique and Gifts, Sherwood’s Flowers and Square Bikes.
Wheeles said Main Street was looking at doing something for Father’s Day in June.
