Lets Make a Miracle

More than 130 cars, trucks and motorcycles attended the Car Show held Saturday, Aug. 7 at the Newton County Recreation Commission's Turner Lake Complex. The event raised more than $3,600 for the Miracle League.

Best of Show was awarded to Steve Long from Loganville who brought his 2005 Harley Davidson Thunder Mountain Custom Motorcycle. Additionally Top 50 awards were presented as well as 10 Best of Class Awards.

This car show was planned and organized by Lanier Sims - a member of The Miracle League's Building Committee and Marketing/Fundraising Committee.

All proceeds will go towards the construction of The Miracle League Complex - to be built at City Pond Park and managed/run by the Newton County Recreation Commission.
Vendors who participated in the event include Covington Rental, Chick-fil-A, Waffle House, Spires Interior & Gifts, Laura Kemp (jewelry), Keith Morris (T-shirts, hats, and sunglasses), Ricky Rooks (fine woodworking), Sharon Smith (hand painted pots), Gateway Church (free juice and water), Green Livin' Farms (organic produce), Bobby Jack Savage and the Porerdale Shriners (pork rinds), Custom Tint & Sound, AMS Oil and Marvin the Boiled Peanut Man.
