Identification on the skeletal remains found by the Yellow River early Saturday morning could take several weeks.
Meanwhile, investigators with the Newton County Sheriff's Office are looking into any missing person's reports that may have been filed.
The remains were found by men out cat fishing just off River Front Road. With the exception of some clothing, there was nothing more than bones left of the person.
According to Lt. Tyrone Oliver, the body has been there for at least several months.
The remains were sent to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation. A forensic anthropologist will likely be called on to make identification.
