A 32-year-old homeless man was arrested Tuesday, and charged with the sexual battery of a 20-year-old female.

According to Newton County Sheriff's Lt. Keith Crum, Brandon Harris told the girl he would purchase alcohol for her. He also touched her inappropriately and made sexual advances toward her. She cried out and the situation was diffused.

When deputies arrived and collected evidence, there was enough available to arrest Harris. He was transported to the Newton County Detention Center where he remains, charged with criminal attempt to commit sodomy, sexual battery, contributing to the delinquency of a minor and battery.
