Fraud reports filed with sheriff's office

Three reports of financial fraud have been filed with the Newton County Sheriff's Office.

Two of the reports claim illegal use of a credit card. According to one report, $228 in fraudulent transactions were incurred on the account in Arizona and Maryland. In the second incident, the victim reported $346 in fraudulent charges.

The third report claims impersonation. A man had his identity stolen in Clarkston, where an unknown individual filed 2010 federal and state tax returns, according to the report.
Police are now investigating the reports of fraud.
