First candidates forum Oct. 8 for District 43 Special Election

The first candidates forum for the special elections taking place on the November ballot will be held Thursday, Oct. 8, at 6:30 p.m.

Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. Chi Tau Omega Chapter; Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. of the Covington Conyers Area Alumnae Chapter; East Metro Orchids; NAACP Newton County Branch, National Council of Negro Women Rockdale/Newton Section and NewRock Legal Society host a Candidate Forum for the Senate District 43 and House District 92 races set for Nov. 3. The forum is at Macedonia Baptist Church, 1052 Barton Street, Conyers, GA 30012.

Voters eligible for the elction of candidates in Senate District 43, which covers large portions of Newton County, Rockdale and part of DeKalb, and House District 92 will have the opportunity to learn about each candidate’s platform and plan for the districts before early voting begins on Oct. 12.

Senate District 43, formerly represented by DeKalb County Judge Ronald Ramsey, covers portions of DeKalb, Rockdale and Newton Counties. House District 92, formerly represented by Rep. Tonya Anderson, covers portions of DeKalb and Rockdale. All candidates to fill the Senate and House seats have been invited to participate.
