Early voting for the March 21 SPLOST vote begins Monday.

According to the Newton County Board of Elections, early voting will begin Feb. 27 and run through March 17 at the Newton County Administration Building only. Polls will be open 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.

There will be no voting on March 20, the Monday prior to the election.

On March 21, voters should go to their assigned voting place. The Board of Elections says that all 22 polling locations will be open 7 a.m. – 7 p.m. on Election Day.

The Board of Elections is currently accepting applications for absentee ballots for the 2017 SPLOST election. According to the board, the deadline to request an absentee ballot to be mailed is March 17 at 5 p.m.
