COVINGTON, Ga.- The ongoing Interstate 20 bridge maintenance rehab project requires around-the-clock inside lane closures both east and westbound at Almon Road/Exit 88 beginning Monday, Sept. 23 and lasting for up to 10 days.
Contractors are “jacking” the center of the bridge. Bridge jacking is necessary to relieve the load of the entire bridge structure so that repairs to existing components will be fully effective.

Expect traffic control warnings in advance of the left lane shut downs under the bridge. The Department suggests slower speeds in this area given the high peak hour traffic volumes around the interchange.
